Ryō (両) is the currency of Shogun's Reign. Fastest early routes: repeatable field work, labor cycles, and low-margin trade stalls. Artisan crafting and merchant routes outperform once you can afford the profession, and samurai service pays well for skilled fighters. Avoid hoarding — invest early in tools, goods, and rank requirements to compound.

It depends on your playstyle. Farmer is the safest start with low risk and steady yield. Merchant best rewards trade knowledge and market timing. Artisan scales with crafting skill and materials. Rank progression is driven by three resources: wealth, influence, and reputation. Own land, master a profession, and take part in community events to gain influence, while reputation grows through your actions and social standing. Each rank — from villager to warrior, samurai, noble, and feudal lord — raises the bar, and the Shogun seat is held by only one player at a time.

Claim a plot in a town or village once you meet the housing requirements, then place furniture to personalize it. Early claims are cheaper but limit location choice. Private domains give you a dedicated space with full control. Housing is also a status symbol — estates near shrines or main roads attract attention and roleplay interest.

Combat can be lucrative for skilled players — samurai service and guard work pay better than most labor, and dangerous roads hold opportunities. But gear costs Ryō and losing fights is expensive. Most players find a hybrid route best: start peaceful to build capital, then branch into combat once your gear budget is comfortable. Check the Combat page for the melee basics.

OC (Original Character) codes are character-save codes shared by the roleplay community. They let you reuse or publish a fully designed character — outfit, hair, colors and accessories — instead of rebuilding it. Keep your own save code handy, and check community channels for OC codes people share. These are not redeemable currency codes.
